This is a full-time position.
The coordinator would be responsible for supporting people in reaching their goals.
Facilitating personal outcomes for persons with disabilities is a basic principle for every position within SCDS.
Would be required to perform professional work by supervising and training staff in order to facilitate and enhance the provision of services.
This includes hiring, evaluating, and terminating employees for staff reporting to this position.
The schedule will be arranged to adequately meet the demands of the position.
Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required (may be required to be the backup on-call every other week/weekend).
Must ensure the individual needs of the persons receiving services are met.
Would need to have the ability to train and supervise staff, exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, maintain and prepare records, relate to persons served, and communicate effectively with staff.
This person must have the ability to interact with a wide variety of people in order to provide outcome-based, person-centered services and support.
Must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with individuals in service, families, co-workers, external agencies, and the general public.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
Prefer one-year supervisory experience in the field of human services and/or one year supervisory experience.
Prefered four years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Driving Requirements:
Valid Nebraska driver's license (driving records will be checked).
Entry requirements for all positions:
Criminal records check Central Registry check Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language At least 18 years of age Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 25 pounds, and occasionally lift 50 pounds.
